Defragment system files

Sysinternals Freeware - PageDefrag

There are always system files you are unable to defrag when you run the disk defragmenter that comes with Windows.

This utility can take care of that for you. I would expect after running it you'll see improved startup and task switching times.

What's even cooler is, it's free.

It may not be that way long, however. Microsoft has acquired both Winternals and Sysinternals (the latter being the developer of this PageDefrag software).

There are more free utilities to snatch while you can. Go check them out. If the site is down, don't fret. It's been getting a lot of activity with the recent news about Microsoft acquiring the company(ies). Lots of folks are rushing to download them.

Note: As of 1pm EST today the sysinternals site is still down. Here is a list of links to each of the free utitiles (unfortunately lacking the descriptions). These file downloads still appear to be working even though the pages on the site are offline.
